Gerbera in the shop

Store in a cool place
The optimal storage temperature for Gerberas is 4 - 7°C. When they arrive, the boxes must remain upside down, with the lid underneath. The best way to care for Gerberas after arrival is as follows:

Left image: Remove the staples and take the contents out of the box.
Centre image: Slant cut the stems 2 to 3 cm from the bottom.
Right image: Place the flowers in clean water and add flower food. Suspend the Gerberas in the water for at least 4 hours.

As soon as the stems feel firm, the flowers can be processed.

If the stems absorb insufficient water or are not straight, it is advisable to twist a piece of wire around them. Gerberas that stand in the shop should be placed in water with flower food for maximum vase life.
